A conversation with activists on the front line of the fight for LGBT+ rights.
Around the world, the LGBT+ community has won many victories in the fight for equality over the last few decades. But in recent years, these hard-earned rights have come under attack:
Governments across Eastern and Central Europe have rolled out a slew of anti-LGBT+ resolutions and discriminatory laws. Spurred on by powerful, conservative groups, leaders in several African and Latin American countries have moved on to curb tentative progress made by queer activists. And in the United States, the prospect of an end to the constitutional right to abortion looms darkly over the future of same-sex marriage in the country.
On June 23, 2022, we spoke to four activists from countries around the world who are holding the pink line in defending their communities against a rollback of the human rights of LGBT+ people.
